Hi, I’m Kate!

I’m one of the Team Leads here at indi Mortgage. Born and raised in Kitchener-Waterloo, I lived there for most of my life, with the exception of one amazing year spent studying overseas in Australia, where I received my Bachelor of Business. Over the years, I have watched Waterloo Region grow and transform into the vibrant area it is today.

While I love my hometown, I made the move to the country in 2018 and proudly call Centre Wellington my home. I absolutely love country living and supporting the small-town communities within it. When I’m not busy working, you’ll most likely find me at my favorite local independent gym in Elora, exploring the outdoors, or supporting some of my favourite local restaurants in Elora and Fergus. I’m fortunate to live within walking distance of the Elora Cataract Trail and some other great hiking spots, so I like to use getting out in nature as my opportunity to ‘unplug and recharge’ with my fur baby. That’s right—I am a very proud “Dog Mom” to my German Shepherd, Nash.

I have been working in the financial industry since 2007. For over a decade, I worked for one of Canada’s largest banks before making the move over to the broker world in 2018. When I left the bank, I remember being told that people moved to the broker side to wind down their careers; I knew in my heart that this move was destined for something GreaterThan.

In the corporate banking world, the intense focus on acquisition over retention fuelled a sense of exhaustion and frustration for both me and my clients. The move to the broker world allowed me to focus on fostering strong relationships with my clients, knowing I would be able to help them with their mortgage needs for the entire life of their mortgage.

There is no denying a mortgage is one of the largest financial decisions you will ever make, and you need a team of experts that will walk with you on this journey, ensuring you feel confident in every step.
